Enjoy and relax

Not sure who this pretty lady is, but my day will mimic hers. Enjoy the weekend !

P.S.

Remember my post about note cards when i said I loved getting things hand written in the mail? We I received the sweetest card and handwritten note this week from my Aunt. Just goes to show you, snail mail is alive and WELL =).

Keys, wallets, and rings

Each day my husband comes homes and puts these items on the counter for him to pick up the following day. Yesterday while I was cleaning up after dinner, I decided I am getting him a tray to place them on. So tired of them just sitting on the counter. I came up with some options. Any one care to tell me which they like the best? #1 #2 #3 #4 I know which one I am leaning towards but just curious to see what you all think.

Up my sleeve ....

Stick around to see what's coming !

"Hot fun in the summertime"

Living in NY my entire life, I really do enjoy having all four seasons. Summer sort of sneaks up on Long Island. We all know it's coming but Spring tends to show it's pretty head for just a bit and then bam, it's hazy, hot and humid Summertime. Last week it hit 113 here and it was pretty darn gross I tell you. But the last two days the humidity has broken and it got me thinking of what reminds me of summer. Especially since I am not longer dripping of sweat lol ! I figured I would share some pictures of what reminds me of summertime with you all. Who ever you are that read this fancy blog ;). So here goes ! Lemonade of course, home made specifically Good Ole Dave Matthews, summer is not complete without him singing in the background somewhere. The smell of sunblock. Is there any better smell??? Burgers ! Be it, chicken, turkey, or beef they are all amazing in my book. Garage sales will always remind me of summer. When we were younger my sisters and I used to stay at m

Vintage napkin holder

I literally have more than I could ever need in our home, but one thing, a napkin holder. Each time my in laws come over, my mother in law makes fun of the fact that I have everything but paper napkins ! I do have them, but I never bought a holder so I have no where to really store them. So I've been looking for the right one and came up with some from Etsy. Ah Etsy how I love thee. Ok so maybe that's a little more then just some =).

Christmas in July

Yep, well the talk of Christmas cards only. For the last four years I've been making Christmas cards to send to a special list of people. I think I make about 20-30 a year. Here are some of the last four years of what I've made. They really looked so much better when I was making them... oh well there is always next year. 2007, yes that is our cat Zero, he was less than thrilled about this lol . Here is 2008. I went old school and cut out two trees out of wrapping paper. Remember when you were little and you would fold the paper in half and cut out a shape? Yep, that's this right here. In 2009, I tried to make something look like a snow globe. My bff Kristi, thought it looked like a moon over the house... could be right. I used tin foil as the globe/moon, put glitter on it to make it appear like it was the inside glitter in the snow globe. Then I made the house out of fabric and paper. I used cotton for the chimney smoke. And I am not quite sure why the tree near the h

Snail mail

With all the technology these days it really makes you miss the simpler way of receiving birthday greetings, get well wishes, love letters, and plain old catch you up with their life, letters from your friends. I remember back in our dating days, my husband and I wrote little letters to each other every so often. I still have many of them. We even wrote a list of "100 things we love about each other", I still have those too. To this day, I love when there is a birthday card or even a postcard (super rare)arrives in my mail box waiting for me. I would absolutely flip if I received a letter from someone ! It would make my day. That's why I love ordering from Etsy so much, most items include a personal letter from the seller. Such a nice touch. When we got married, I could not wait to send out thank you cards for our shower and wedding. I picked out ones that I thought were super cute, yet modern for our shower and of course the wedding ones were the typical phot
