Old books for wallpaper??

I think I am in love with this look. But how do you get it off in years to come when you hate it? Some sites say to put it up with Modge Podge and others use wallpaper glue. I am not sure if I am this daring but I know it would look amazing in my guestroom. Hmmm decisions, decisions... Via http: //thepaintedhome.blogspot.com/ VIA ... not sure where this one is from sorry.. I did a google search... Via http:// www.diylife.com/2011/03/30/book-wallpaper /

What I want now and some pretty things...

What I want... What I want to make ... This is just plain pretty =)

4th of July decor

So are you having a party or BBQ? I am having a small BBQ with my family this upcoming weekend. Since I love to decorate I thought it would be festive to have a 4 th of July decor post. Here are some ideas. I am sure my backyard tables will not look like these, but it's nice to dream what could be !

Stairwell art

Do you have some? Did you do family or personal pictures or artwork? What kind of artwork? Just black and white? Colored? Same colored frame? Different colors? This was my inspiration picture for mine... And here is a picture of mine. Which is not as fascinating as my inspiration pic ! Some close ups... The majority of the artwork came from etsy, most are embroidered or crewel. One was a gift and others were acquired. So what do you think? And should that banister be white lol???

Colored wainscoting

So in our bedroom we would love to add wainscoting like you see here, only issue is we have off white furniture. So I found some pictures of colored wainscoting and I think I am liking the way it looks, especially with the white chair rail. What do you think?

Hutch /həCH/

The definitions of a hutch are the following : A pen or coop for small animals, especially rabbits. A cupboard with drawers for storage and usually open shelves on top, often used for dishes A chest or bin for storage. A hut Well I can tell you I am only speaking of two of those definitions. Certainly not one that contains animals ! Do you have a hutch? Do you decorate it? Do you change it around according to season, holiday, or do you just leave it with whatever is on it? I am decorator. I literally decorate my hutch with a theme or pattern every few months. My hutch was gift from my mother. It was something that has been in my home for many years. She received it as a gift from her mother in law and now it's mine and my husbands... (really just mine, but hey that's ok lol ) Here are some hutches I found via the internet to show you some other people's ideas on how they decorate their own. *** None of these are my photos and I am not quite sure what sites they ha...

Bathroom spruce up part duex

The last thing I needed to do was to hang artwork beside the sink. I just had to find the right frame, which I did over the weekend at Target. Here is a lil peek. The artwork was mentioned in a previous post but here is a picture of it again for a close up. The one I chose for this frame is the first row, second picture. If you are interested in the Etsy seller, look at the previous posting for their info.

The bathroom spruce up

Our bathroom was just alright, but I wanted it to be awesome. So we spruced it up. Here is what we did. I'll try to include sites on where I bought items too. At first, I wanted to repaint the entire room, but then I realized the paint color I was picking out was quite close to the one we had... so we just did a fresh coat on the walls instead. We also painted the ceiling a certain shade of green that was lighter, but you can't really notice it in pics (points for who knows where that comes from.) So here are some visuals : This is our before.. our waaaaaaay before. It shows you the old hardware, the old curtain, and the very old floor. Notice that little peak of brown tile on the wall, yea that is now "gone." Here is the old curtain, old hardware but the new floor. Here is the painted tile, new hardware and before the new faucet. Yep we painted tile. I saw the idea on another blog and was very excited. I hated the brown tile, but didn't want to demo the bathroom ...
