Random things

Today the first song to play on my Pandora was "Ironic" by Alanis Morisette. Very fitting for current events right now... Ugh. Here's the lyrics that I loved so much when I was 16, and continue to love this very day: An old man turned ninety-eight He won the lottery and died the next day It's a black fly in your Chardonnay It's a death row pardon two minutes too late And isn't it ironic... don't you think It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid It's the good advice that you just didn't take Who would've thought... it figures Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye He waited his whole damn life to take that flight And as the plane crashed down he thought "Well isn't this nice..." And isn't it ironic... don't you think It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid I...

Easter and blog anniversary

Can you believe it's been a little over a year since I started this blog? Frankly, I had hoped for more views and followers by this time but I guess that will happen in time. I've enjoyed the last year, writing all posts, seeing some comments and will continue to post some more ! I was even lucky enough to do a guest post on My 30 Spot , which was awesome !  So here's a big thank you to all that read this blog and support it ! Thanks again guys ! Now onto to Easter. Ever since I was little I've loved Easter. Probably because we'd (my sisters and I) would wake up Easter morning and we had huge baskets filled with toys and candy from our parents ! Despite this awesomeness, I also did love the time we spent with our family. Later in life, I really learned the true meaning that surrounds Easter and it made this day even better then when I was younger. I am hosting this year and I thought it would be fun to look up some decorative inspirations. Here are some fancies I...

Chirp, chirp, chirp

Spring has sprung on Long Island ! Want to know how I know? Well take a guess from the title ! The birds were chirping so loud they woke me this morning. Yes, maybe if I was  Cinderella or Snow White I'd enjoy it, but no thanks !!!  I know, no fun. I get it. But with Spring here, it has me on the move for home projects. Over the weekend we added wainscoting to our stairway header. (pics to come) I like it but not love it. Mr. B is going to kick my bum because I was dead set on it. Oh well, live and learn.  So of course, projects in my head spark research on the web. (hey that sort of rhymed !) Here are some of the things I am thinking of and loving lately. Brick flooring love ! Plantation shutters for our dining room. So awesome !! What about you? Are you doing home projects now that Spring has sprung?

Little by little it will get done...

Every single window in our home has verticals on them. I am sure you all know just how expensive and hard to choose window treatments can be. This past weekend I was sick and tired of the ones in our kitchen. I headed to Wal-mart because they have the Better Homes & Garden line, which I love, and picked out a new curtain set. We also had some issues with the track lighting we had in the kitchen, so that was changed too. Here are some before and afters. The afters look a lot brighter, probably because of a few reasons : the lighting, the new camera and it was day time out when I took the afters. Thanks for taking a peak, now go have some green beer. Happy St. Paddy's day everyone !  Before with old verticals and track lighting After, which looks much much brighter for numerous reasons ! Close up of the new curtains, I love them !

Etsy has the goods !

I wanted to share my most recent purchases from Etsy. I have purchased four dresses since November that I love ! And now I have my eye on these =)

A delightful event

This weekend we celebrated my brother in law's engagement. The party seemed to go as fast as a blink of the eye because it was a really great time. Sadly, I am still getting used to the new camera and the lighting in the room was awful. So here are some pictures. Enjoy ! And congrats again T and Kurt. We love you to pieces and can not wait to party at the wedding !
