Suit Up

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you've ever watched "How I met your mother," you would know that the character Barney Stinson always "suits up" for every occasion. He makes it known how important it is to always look your best. And he does do it well.

So why shouldn't we all try this?  Well now you can. Express is giving away $500.00 to the lucky winner to spend for a suit makeover.  You can enter the sweepstakes here Express sweepstakes

Looking over at the express website I saw that there are a lot of great suits for both men and women that can go from day to night. If you happen to work in a more professional atmosphere but still want to wear something that is comfortable, this can work for you. Especially if you want to transition from business day to night time drinks or dinner.  Check out the Express site for some more gorgeous fashion Express

Here are some of the great suits that you can switch it up from the daily grind to cocktails. Simply add a pair of jeans and keep the jacket. Or ditch the jacket and wear a silk tank under it for night time drinks.

I personally feel that all men's suits can be worn for any occasion. Be it work, dinner, weddings, and hey, even funerals. A great suit is a smart investment. All men should have a at least one well fitted suit in their closet. Here are three of my favorites from Express.

Thanks for posting. Of the two women's suits on your blog I prefer the one with the longer suit jacket because sometimes I think short jackets make women look more "school-girl" than CEO.
That is all.

I like long jackets on woman. Short one remind me of a uniform. I must say that when I worked and wore a suit everyone would comment on how nice it looked..I felt empowered! And as far as a man in a suit to me it is all in the tie!

Some plans come undone...

This seems to be the theme of our lives lately but it also fit in to the semi decorating reno I wanted to do in our downstairs bathroom/laundry room. And see that was the question, is it a bathroom or is it a laundry room or heck, is it both? I decided to embrace it and decorate around it being a laundry room. I planned on painting the walls gray and one day I will get around to it. But for now I just used the decorations I had come up with to change it up a bit. Here is the before. And the after... We removed the verticals and hung a valance that we had, we had changed the light fixture months ago to make it flow better with the one above the sink. We also changed the hardware on all the cabinets to silver instead of bronze. We also added a shelf to go above the washer and dryer. This way all the soap, fabric softener and bounce sheets had a new home. I then added decorations that went with the theme of a laundry room. Believe it or not this old washboard was in our shed. Looks like ...

It's no secret...

that our bodies can do amazing things. Especially us women. It's also no secret that we are almost suffocated with the image of what the "perfect "woman should look like. Does that person really exist in life without a cook, maid, personal trainer, butler, life coach, plastic surgeon, etc. etc? Who knows. What I do know is this, I have seen beautiful women in my life, many of them. And guess what? They are not what are in those photo-shopped magazines. They are just simply beautiful. When we make the decision to have a baby, of course we wonder what is going to happen to our bodies? Will we gain 200lbs? We will get stretch marks? Will we be able to lose the weight we gain? And maybe some don't even worry because they are just happy with being pregnant. For me, I was happy to be pregnant. I was overweight to begin with and my first trimester was a doozie. I ended up losing weight then(don't worry I gained it back) But I didn't gain too much because I had...

Tea bag magic

Don't mind this super old picture of our home. This was when we first moved in but I needed to show the coloring of the chair when it was first purchased. We bought this chair from Ikea when we first purchased our home. It was just okay to me but it fit where I wanted so I worked with it for a while. I played around with different pillows and blankets for the chair but nothing ever really felt right. Until recently, when I decided to take off the bottom cushion cover and dye it with tea bags. I have done the application twice and I think I have finally gotten it to the desired coloring. Take a look. Original 1st application 2nd application Another view So maybe now it will feel a bit better in the room. Not sure if I will go for a third application or change up the New York pillow.
