In the words of Bjork

It's oh so quiet It's oh so still You're all alone And so peaceful until... You fall in love Zing boom The sky up above Zing boom Is caving in Wow bam Yep it's a bit quiet around here now a days. I have some things I could post but most nights I am pretty sleepy after work. So for now I leave you with this song :

The monogram necklace

Mr. B rarely reads my blog. Gasp I know, what on earth is he thinking. Well just in case he strolls this way I want there to always be a wish list for him to view. I love monogram necklaces and have always wanted one. I have way too many pieces of jewelry to even consider getting one more, but this is just so beautiful.

Valentine's is less then a month away...

So what do you have planned? I am thinking we have nothing much going on. Last year we had dinner at home and we made it fancy. Not too sure what this year will bring. We may finally use the gift card to our favorite restaurant http://blondrestaurant.com/ as a combo Valentine's - Beth finishing school celebration. We still haven't done that ! I received my letter in the mail the other day saying I will receive my degree shortly ! Such a great accomplishment. Just for fun let's do some Etsy Valentine's vintage searches. Here is are some cool things I found. Hope you do something good on Valentine's day. Even if you are single and have a protest Valentine's dinner with friends, I hope it's fantastic !

Forlorn...

Saw this on my cousin's blog and it sums up how I've felt all month. Shame really, life is so precious to be in a slump... here's to to better days and hope.

On the road again ...

Scenes from our travels. Shame that I couldn't get my camera out in time for the Delaware Water Gap's really pretty part. But it's cool, there is always next time. Back in NY The forever broken skyline Random shots of the Gap Till next time... Let's hope for better shots =).

The $50.00 challenge

It's no secret that this economy is a woozy. Years ago we all made much more money, including myself. This past weekend we headed to Pennsylvania to my moms house. I had budgeted $130.00 to go shopping and then on Thursday that amount quickly lessened to $50.00. Of course at first I was upset because I was working with a small enough amount already, but then I got over it. I decided to challenge myself to see what I could get. Here are some of the items. I think I did quite well. Here is what I came up with : An old sugar bowl, two ball jars and a cast iron coat hook. Although it won't be used for coats. close up of the bird coat hook Close up of the covered sugar bowl here is where the Ball jars landed, in our laundry room See them on the right? Those four items came to $26.00, so there are still some left to go... But this next piece really can not count in the $50.00 since my mom technically bought it for me. But it was with in the price range t

Picture overload

This past weekend Mr. B and I headed to Pennsylvania to visit my mom and popparoni. It was a much needed visit filled with comfort, food and lots of laughs. Sometimes, well most times, when we go there, we antique. There is a great Antique Barn there called Peddlers Village. It's filled with amazing things. Here are some shots that I took inside. Apparently some vendors are a little touchy when it comes to photos. One person running a booth questioned why I was taking pictures and advised me "in his opinion I should not..." HA ! What a grumpy old man ! There are some great treasures to be found inside the barn. Some I did actually get, but more on that tomorrow. First two pictures of non vintage items. There is a little nook in the front of the barn with items made from the Amish. This is one of them. I loved it. I want my father in law to make me this. It's a bench made out of a raised panel door ! So cool Another shot  These are just cool. Coppe
